Study tour of the delegation from Moldova republic “Health Insurance Experience in Lithuania”, 17-22 of August, 2003


On the 17-22 of August, 2003 delegation of officials from Republic Moldova visited Lithuania. Health Economics Centre together with Vilnius Territorial Patient Fund organized study visit and trainings for the representatives from health care system, Ministry of Finances and Presidency from this country.

Delegation members were introduced to the structure and financing issues of the health care system, experience of the implementation of the Health Insurance system in Lithuania.

Guests from Moldova Republic visited Vilnius and Panevezys Territorial patient Funds, State patient fund, inpatient and outpatient health care institutions.

Members of the delegation also visited State Patient fund and Territorial patient Funds, Vilnius and regional health care institutions


From the 1 of July, 2003 in one of the regions of the Moldova Republic pilot implementation of the Health Insurance system has started.
